Sandra Pope, Professional Doula is a Detroit native who loves music, food, and spending time with family and friends. Life has graced her with 7 amazing God Children whom she loves dearly. Sandra has always had a special love for babies and a desire to help expecting families. As a young girl she enjoyed watching TLC “A Baby Story” and Discovery Health’s “Birth Day”. As the years went by the urge to make a difference in women’s birth experience grew. The increasing infant and maternal mortality rate amongst the African American community fueled her mission to educate and advocate for every mother that she could.
Sandra graduated in 2010 from Southfield-Lathrup High School. She is currently a Pre Nursing student with the goal of becoming a Labor and Delivery Nurse. In Spring of 2019, Sandra began pursuing her passion for educating and supporting families by becoming a DONA (Patty Brennan) trained doula then later certifying with Lifespan Doulas (Patty Brennan). Within her first year of becoming a doula she provided birth and postpartum support for 6 mothers.
As of March 2022, Sandra has provided support for 26 births.
